CloudPointe WebDAV Connector

The CloudPointe WebDAV (Web-based Distributed Authoring and Versioning) connector allows you to use any WebDAV-enabled application or server as an online secure document workspace. Share and collaborate on documents from your WebDAV enabled application or server.

The WebDAV connector can be used to extend services of many ECM and Document Management systems such as Documentum, Alfresco, FusionDox, FileNet, KnowledgeTree, Hummingbird, Vignette, SpringCM and others. This also opens up access to Apache and IIS WebDAV enabled servers and application frameworks such as Apache Jackrabbit for sharing documents and files from server file systems.

How it works

In CloudPointe, you add a WebDAV Site Connection to your server by entering your hostname, username and password. CloudPointe will automatically create a shared folder, to which you can add people (by email address) who should be allowed to have access to your files. When you add people to your share, they will receive an email message with information they need to access the shared documents and files.

Optionally you can specify a specific folder to share so that users can only access documents from that individual folder.

After you have set any security settings you prefer, you and your users can upload, download, preview, edit, print and comment on any files in the shared folder. All changes that are made are saved back to your WebDAV server so that you still have full control.

To make it even easier for your users, you can embed the shared folder right into your own website with a few lines of code. This way your users won't need to leave your website.

The CloudPointe Advantage:

  • You control where all your documents are stored
  • No need to duplicate your documents and files on a 3rd party file sharing server
  • CloudPointe adds document sharing, editing, previews and commenting, even for users outside of the enterprise
  • Embed file sharing in your website or application
  • You have access to your files from any internet connected computer
